However, the nature of the job does matter. Solving problems in style X means simply that the majority of the brainwork would need to be done by the manager. Most projects are in fact too complex for one person, so the result wouldn&#039;t be satisfying. 
If the team in a software project seems to require theory X management, then this means that the team is dysfunctional. This is what needs the manager&#039;s attention, and what needs to get fixed. One needs to understand why the team behaves that way - causes may be wrong incentives (e.g. learning is punished, sticking blindly to orders is rewarded) or there are people issues (sometimes there may be no way around to replace people for the team to get functional again).]]></description>
